Job 39636 Orchard Road

This 1950s chalet-style house had a series of small, cellular and largely unusable rooms with limited connection to the garden. Carefully considered internal alterations and a new extension opened up the rear of the house, creating generous, light-filled living spaces that connect naturally with the garden.

Facing brick, glass and render give the extension a simple contemporary character, while floating steps provide a playful transition from the house to the garden.
